Prance

My next entry for the RF Royal Winter Eventing Show. Starring, once again, Frost! ^^ Doing his thing in dressage.

Prance

Frost danced about, shifting from foot to foot. His Thoroughbred blood was showing, what with the fidgeting and impatience. 

"Shh," Hannah said. "Stop that."

He pinned his ears back briefly. Don't tell me what to do.

He watched the performance of the horse before him. He beautifully strode across the warmly lit arena. Almost perfect in each step. Frost may not have fully understood the reasons for these events. But he knew competition. And he knew his steps. And he wondered if he was good enough.

He shook his head. Literally chomping at the bit. There was an applause and his competitor left the arena. 

"Ready?" Hannah patted his neck.

I guess so.

With a snort and some prompting, Frost moved forward. Ear flicking toward the announcer: Number 10, Hannah Bridgewater on Earl Grey.
In the audience he picked the voice of Hannah's father. The horse smirked to himself.

With all the pent up energy, he started his pace a little too quickly. That's what he gets for being a speed horse, he supposed. His mother always told him he should be in the races. Frantic as he was to just move, Hannah's subtle gestures were able to get him reined in. He focused on her. On the music. Easing his hold on the bit, he relaxed. His feet dancing under him as he pranced over the floor. 

Okay. This wasn't going to be so bad, after all.
